Role Summary:

On a typical day, but not limited to, the Buyer/Procurement Specialist for Drilling and Completion Fluids position will begin the day by checking their board and prioritizing orders. Then proactively communicating / coordinating with Suppliers and Logistics to ensure shipments are processed and delivered in a timely fashion. This included evaluating options to best serve internal customer needs. Next Buyers are collaborating with Inventory Management and the Regions to ensure alignment. Finally working with Suppliers to ensure Good Receipt and Payment.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Under general supervision, ensures timely and accurate maintenance of material master data to support the Drilling Fluids business
  • Submits requests using established processes to create vendors, material numbers, BOMS, routings, and maintenance on the approved supplier list
  • Resolves issues with master data requests as they move through the process
  • Ensures thorough and up to date understanding of master data requirements and processes
  • Recommends efficiencies in obtaining/processing master data requests
  • Supports buyers as needed
  • Fosters active daily use of continuous improvement tools to improve HS&E, quality, delivery, financial performance, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction
  • Conducts all business activities in accordance with BHGE Health, Safety and Environmental policies
  • Handles special projects as assigned

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 2+ years procurement, sourcing, master data or similar experience
  • 2+ years of experience applying stand-alone knowledge of purchasing practices, principles and procedures
  • 2+ years of professional usage with the software SAP
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, including advanced level knowledge with MS Excel
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • Must be able to balance multiple projects in a challenging, fast-paced work environment
  • Must be able to work in a cross-functional team and demonstrate consistent forward progress
