JOB DESCRIPTION

Under direct supervision, the Software QA Analyst builds test systems, performs regression and functional testing on existing software products and new software products for third party customers. They develop tests and automated test scripts according to specifications from technical leads. They reports, track and verify fixes for detected (manual and automated) problems with software. They work with the technical staff to isolate and reproduce problems with software. They may assist in review of user manuals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Automation and Manual test execution

Maintains existing test scripts and test cases, and develops new ones based on new requirement

Performs regression and defect testing activity in manual and automation mode

Building and configuring test systems

Defecting logging

Unit testing, Quality Assurance regression testing, ticket testing of bug fixes with collateral damage validation, interface and integration testing, environmental and performance testing on multiple platforms

Status reporting to Test Lead; developing tests according to specifications from higher level staff

Reporting, tracking and verifying fixes for detected problems with software; working with Technical staff to isolate and reproduce problems with software

May assist in the review of user manuals

Understanding Weatherford's Quality Policy and complying with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating/Technical Procedures and workplace instructions

Understanding and complying with all safety rules and company policies

Work assignments must be carried out to the highest quality level

Performing other duties and activities as assigned by Supervisor, within the physical constraints of the job

QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to translate requirements into a solid test cases.

Ability to automate complex workflows.

Ability to work in a past-paced environment and balance priorities.

Strong diagnostic skills to track, troubleshoot, and identify issues.

Ability to take direction and work well with others.

Familiar with web technologies and testing in a thin-client environment.

Familiar with database technologies and web services.

Hands-on knowledge on minimum of one automation tool.

Knowledge of one or more scripting languages.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Two years of experience with testing medium to large projects.

Off-hours availability with offshore teams.

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.

B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering

POSITION SPECIFIC DETAILS

Preferred:

Must have familiarity with Agile, Scrum and Kanban methodolgies

Must have experience with a UI automation framework

Must have experience with JMeter and/or other performance testing tools

Must have experience with Selenium and/or MS Unit Testing Framework

Must have experience with Oil & Gas industry applications

2+ years of experience as Test Automation Analyst
