Role Summary:

We are looking for a Data Scientist. In this role you will participate in the definition of new analytic capabilities able to provide our internal and external customers with the information they need to make proper decisions and to help them with solutions capable to augment productivity and outcome. In addition, you will help finding the appropriate machine learning and specifically deep learning algorithms to answer these needs.

Finally, you will be responsible for implementing the new identified solutions into products and processes, making them available to our internal and external customers.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Driving adoption of Deep Learning systems into next-generation BH products and processes
  • Designing and deploying deep learning algorithms on industrial IoT applications such as anomaly detection and predictive maintenance.
  • Collaborating with data and subject matter experts from BH, its suppliers and its customer teams to seek, understand, validate, interpret, and correctly use new data elements.
  • Evangelize BH AI services and share best practices through forums such as BH blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms & principles (regression analysis, time series, probabilistic models, supervised classification and unsupervised learning), and their application.
  • Applied experience with Deep Learning algorithms such as Convolutional Neural Networks, Recurrent Neural Networks
  • Knowledge with test driven development, agile software development methodologies and tools to deploy and monitor algorithms in production environments
  • Familiarity with Deep Learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, and strong experience in at least one of those.
  • Background in numerical optimization.
  • Experience with at least one of the following: Machine learning (deep learning, large-scale optimization, probabilistic inference, etc.), Natural language processing (sequence segmentation, knowledge extraction, multi-modal learning, etc.), Computer vision (large scale image classification, object detection, instance segmentation, OCR, face recognition, etc.), and Reinforcement learning.
  • Ability to drive a project and work both independently and in a team
  • Smart, motivated, can do attitude, and seeks to make a difference
  • Excellent verbal and written communication - you can speak in appropriate technical depth, back up your assertions with data, and you love proposing actionable solutions;
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent fields. Specialization in machine learning preferred.
  • Have a proven track record of writing production-ready code;
  • Excellent programming skills in prototyping languages such as Python and R. Experience with Java or Scala is a plus.


Desired Characteristics:

  • A track record of research excellence with your work published in top conferences and journals such as, NeurIPS, ICML, JMLR, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, AAAI, ACL, EMNLP
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent fields. Specialization in machine learning preferred.
  • A portfolio of projects (GitHub, papers, etc.)
