SUMMARY

Project Controls Specialist (PC) will provide support for the delivery of individual capital and expense projects within the Kenai Refinery Facility Siting Program. Project Controls will work closes with Facility Siting Project Management, Engineering, and Construction to ensure projects are planned and managed to meet performance expectations. Project Controls will be responsible for providing forward looking information identifying expected project performance and comparisons against performance requirements Project Controls work schedule will be 9/80 or 4/10 on site, with some periods of extended hours as approved by the Project Manager. Project scopes are estimated in the range of $100K - $25MM Total Installed Cost (TIC). Duration of assignment is expected to extend through the end of 2Q20. Extension of assignment beyond 2Q20 will be at the mutual agreement of the Marathon and the Contractor.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

  • Participate in the development of project schedules and cost control documentation
  • Maintain project metrics throughout the duration of individual projects within the Kenai Facility Siting Program
  • Provide project controls expertise including planning, schedule, cost control and risk management
  • Apply project controls methodologies for project phases such as design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and close-out
  • Apply cost control techniques to quantify project financial performance and forecasting
  • Provide project controls support for major project decisions
  • Provide project control input for contractor selection
  • Analyze and report Contractor progress and performance
  • Implement and maintain project risk management process
  • Perform Scheduling duties for the Kenai Facility Siting Program
  • Perform Critical Path Methodology and provide solutions for mitigating schedule risk as it relates to successful completion of each project's objectives within the Facility Siting Program
  • Develop and maintain project schedules; establishing progress measurement, earned value and performance reporting utilizing schedule data
  • Other responsibilities will be assigned as needed

 


EXPERIENCE

 

 

 

 

  • Project controls experience in vertical construction role preferred
  • Project controls experience in refining or upstream Oil & Gas required
  • Project controls experience developing building projects in refining or upstream Oil & Gas preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of experience developing and maintaining resource loaded schedules in Oracle Primavera (P6) Software
  • 5-10 years of experience in project scheduling, project controls, and construction management is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering is preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
