Role Summary:

As a Supporting Services (SSA) Lead Field Engineer for GE Measurement & Control, you will be tasked with managing and executing customer service contracts. You will evaluate customer service needs based on customer critical assets, asset protection system, and asset monitoring systems. You will provide input to developing a comprehensive supporting service maintenance & reliability plan to enhance and support customers maintenance & reliability programs. You will build customer relationship; manage contractual obligations; be responsible for financial commitments to the business as well as service commitments to the customers.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of SSA Lead Field Engineer, you will:
  • Assess job site Safety and perform services as per GE Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies
  • Perform Asset Management / Reliability Service Studies
  • Understand contractual commitments and complete them in a timely manner
  • Manage contracts in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Pulp & Paper, and other process industries
  • Diagnose basic machinery problems based upon: vibration data, operational data, and customer communications
  • Perform commissioning, and trouble-shooting of Bently Nevada Hardware and Software Products and Solutions at GE and customer locations
  • Know Bently Nevada Machinery Diagnostic, System 1®, BN Protection system capabilities and uses
  • Timely completion of standard service reports, invoicing packages, and milestone management
  • React to customer requests in a timely manner.
  • Complete Documentation of findings / recommendations
  • Professionally communicate with customer and other team members
  • Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality
  • Support the growth initiatives of the business
  • Use of customer portal to upload required documents

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree Engineering field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in installing Bently Nevada Hardware and Configuring System 1 Software

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Travel 60% of the time, as required
  • Work overtime, as required
  • Possess a valid US Passport and Driving License
  • Ability to obtain TWIC Card
  • Bently Nevada S&I Skill - Trained / Certified
  • Bently Nevada System 1 Classic & Evo Trained / Certified

Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English language
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision requirement; able to work independently; ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel
  • Ability to work under stressful working conditions
  • Project Management Skills
  • Strong computer skills; both Hardware and Software, plus MS Office software skills
  • Mechanical & Electrical trouble shooting skills. "Hands-on approach"
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand mechanical prints
  • Knowledge of Reciprocating Compressors
  • Experience with Networking devices and protocols
  • Knowledge of rotating machinery operation and controls systems
  • Knowledge of machinery protection and management systems
  • Knowledge or experience with AT LEAST one or more of the following: mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration and/or diagnostics, rotordynamic analysis, machinery balancing and alignment.
  • Knowledge of Bently Nevada products and services
  • Black Belt or Green Belt Certified (Internal employees only)
