Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently hiring for an experienced NCCCO Crane Operator for the Powder River Basin. Successful candidates will also hold a current Class A CDL w/ air brake endorsement. Must be able to work and live full-time in the Buffalo / Sheridan / Gillette, WY area.Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

This position will split time between operations of a small boom truck to move/set equipment and field technician/construction crew duties, as needed.

CRANE OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accurately interpret and apply information from work orders, job orders, specifications, blueprints or drawings
  • Select and safely use appropriate equipment which may include (but not limited to) manlifts, fork lifts, and company trucks
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in safe rigging practices
  • Identify, explain and perform crane signals
  • Demonstrate ability to accurately read load charts
  • Identify functions, operating characteristics and limitation of various pieces of heavy equipment
  • Demonstrate ability to calculate and determine a crane's actual new capacity for every possible configuration of the machine
  • Demonstrate ability to consistently obtain correct load weight and load placement information prior to performing any lifts
  • Identify and recognize factors that may reduce crane capacity
  • Demonstrate appropriate procedures in shutting down and securing equipment when it is unattended

FIELD TECHNICIAN / CONSTRUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of all compression equipment
  • Complete preventive maintenance and repair of compression equipment
  • Assist in setting small compression units throughout the field
  • Rebuild pumps and install bearings on electrical motors
  • Troubleshoot and fix mechanical pumps, small compression units to optimize gas production
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills / Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Must have a current & valid NCCCO certification to operate appropriate equipment
  • Class A CDL w/air brake endorsement
  • Must have a current valid driver's license
  • Candidate must have at least 2 -5 years of experience operating overhead cranes/hoisting equipment in an industrial environment. A portion of that experience may be as a helper/apprentice
