Position Description:

The Upstream Professional Development Center (UPDC) is actively seeking a top Geophysicist to address all training needs of the upstream Geophysics discipline; with a special interest in candidates who are experienced seismic interpreters and the applications of seismic inversion, rock physics, and other seismic attributes such as AVO, and seismic anisotropy in Oil and Gas related Geophysics.

As the successful candidate, you will work within a team of technical advisors with broad geophysics experiences and specialties to develop and deliver a wide range of professional development programs and courses targeting Saudi Aramco geophysicists of all levels.

You will work closely with other technical advisors from other disciplines including geologists, reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, production engineers, petrophysicists, unconventional resources, and facilities engineers, in the development of multidisciplinary training programs.

Minimum Requirements:
As the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor's degree in Geophysics. Other related degrees in Earth Sciences may be considered. An MSc and/or PhD degree in Geophysics is desirable or alternative disciplines including physics, geology or engineering.

You will have a minimum of 15 years industry experience working on Exploration & Development Geophysical projects and operations that includes 10 years or more of recent active technical roles.

Preferably, you will have a wide range of Geophysical disciplines with good experience in seismic interpretation (e.g., prospect generation and/or reservoir characterization).

A practical knowledge and application of rock physics, seismic inversion, and seismic attributes such as AVO, fluids substitution, and seismic anisotropy are desirable.

Experience in training delivery, mentoring, and development of training programs for Geophysics at all levels is required.

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:

Enhance the upstream groups' job family curricula for early career, mid-career and senior professionals.

Contribute to the delivery of several courses including the upstream on-boarding program, the group Flagship, and other technical subjects.

Engage management at all levels to ensure technical curriculum and content development is in line with management objectives and expectations.

Develop the annual course delivery schedule for the groups' job family and ensure the internal and vendor instructors are confirmed for each course.

Ensure each technical advisor and the business lines organizations endorse the technical content of each course.

Oversee all external consultant and instructor needs for development, and ensure each training course is completed.

Utilize UPDC-based instructional designers, graphic artists, and technical writers for building technical content as appropriate.

Collect and analyze post-course feedback to improve content for future offerings.

Attend courses to evaluate course quality and instructor effectiveness, especially courses developed and delivered by external vendors.

Innovate, create, and share new approaches in training or technical advancement through local and international forums.
