Purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, services, components, raw material and finished parts necessary for the operation.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Purchase quality products with timely deliveries at the best price.
Expedite current purchase orders for delivery.
Process and communicate RMR reports with suppliers.
Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
Provide information to management, as required, for monthly reports.
Perform all clerical requirements, as needed, with reference to specific responsibilities.
Maintain ethical conduct with all supplier relations.
Maintain open communication lines with other departments.
Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
Know and understand Weatherford quality policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions, and the Global Trade Compliance Manual.
Monitors and makes recommendations on stocking levels of products in the supply chain to optimize inventory turns and material availability to support production.
Locate and arrange for goods and services necessary for efficient operation of the organization.
Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
Negotiates contracts for services.
Review and approve technical and administrative content of purchasing documentation.
Review and reconcile invoicing issues with suppliers and Accounts Payable.
Assist with training and support of less experienced teammates.
Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Microsoft office, excel, word, etc.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with manufacturing and service environment.
Purchasing and negotiating skills.
Working computer knowledge.
Must have reading, writing and math skills.
Individual must be able to follow instructions.
Should be able to work and interact with all levels of personnel.
Minimum 3-5 years prior experience as a buyer.
Some additional professional training in materials/supply chain management
1+ years of college or 3 years' experience may substitute for college
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
Bachelors degree in applicable field
Professional certification (e.g., APICS, ISM, Lean, 6 Sigma)
5 years procurement experience in global manufacturing environment.
