Role Summary:

The Health, Safety & Environmental Site Lead will lead the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) function implementing strategic and tactical plans and driving culture change, compliance assurance, and continuous improvement activities in HSE for the operating team as well as other administrative functions across a facility with strong focus on strategy and execution, simplification of processes and best practice sharing.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of HSE Site Lead, you will:

 

  • Develop / Execute HSE Communication strategies
  • Develop professional competencies in HSE
  • Experience in managing permitting, waste, air, water, including thorough knowledge of regulations, ability to interact with Agency personnel
  • Drive execution of HSE strategies within the operating team, providing frontline support for HSE
  • Ensure continuous HSE improvement within the facility through trend analysis, data, and risk reduction initiatives
  • Experience in conducting audits, evaluations and assessments for compliance with rules policies and procedures and communication of opportunities to improve, collaboratively
  • Use or establish shared vision and metric alignment/accountability to ensure HSE compliance and engagement within all functions of the facility
  • Promote HSE value adds across the functions
  • Drive HSE simplification initiatives across the facility
  • Provide HSE resources/support including risk assessment, hazard analysis, regulatory expectation for new product and service introductions
  • Promote best practice sharing and collaboration across all teams
  • Prepare and communicate HSE metrics and dashboards to leadership and employees
  • Lead customer focused HSE initiatives and compliance audits
  • Lead Customer outreach Initiatives to drive positive HSE Net Promoter Score (NPS) performance
  • Ensure compliance for the facility
  • Lean into regional shared services resources for additional help, support, expertise as needed


Qualifications/Requirements:

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an HSE engineer, specialist or generalist


Eligibility Requirements:

 

 

  • Travel up to 10% of the time, as required

  • Experienced HSE specialist or engineer with demonstrated track record of success

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, English competency is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to influence remotely at all leadership levels
  • Proven track record of establishing strategic vision and goals and execution of to those plans
  • Six Sigma green belt certified
  • Professional Certification (CHMM, CIH, CSP, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience of HSE Programs and management systems
  • Experience in excellence programs (VPP, Global Star. ISO 14001 or OSHAS 18000)
