JOB DESCRIPTION

INTERNAL CANDIDATES MUST NOTIFY THEIR CURRENT SUPERVISOR PRIOR TO APPLYING FOR ANY POSITION

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure efficient and cost effective Importation of goods in compliance with all applicable Customs and OGA rules and regulations.

Provide work direction to others in the department for import and customs matters and support the import of products, services, transfer of technical data as well as supply chain activities.

Coordinate with external parties such as brokers, forwarders and logistic suppliers and internal functions to maintain and implement standardized integrated international trade procedures, to maximize corporate efficiency and minimize regulatory risk and to execute import and customs best practices.

Manage, implement and maintain an import and customs compliance program to assure company compliance with agency directives and procedures and with applicable laws and regulations while aligning with the global import and export group.

Support logistics functions and interface with internal and external partners (including regulatory bodies) to facilitate movement of goods and minimize impact to business and operations.

Collaborate with operational and divisional personnel and other functions on various initiatives and programs to address and manage import and customs compliance topics and advice as needed on agreements and arrangements so as to ensure duty obligations are fulfilled and assure the expeditious entry and distribution of products and information.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and process flows via knowledge regarding various topics including valuation, designation of customs bonded facilities, use of foreign trade zones, and provisional duty free treatment under bond.

Manage Post Entry Audit Program of imported items and resolve errors as needed to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Work to ensure the team has understanding and commitment to program. Manage and implement internal assessments and auditing program to ensure import and customs compliance.

Participate with logistics sourcing teams in the development of shipping import/export requirements and manage preparation of prior disclosures, voluntary tenders, protests, post entry adjustments and information requests from governmental bodies.

Manage operational relationship with US Customs Brokers to include daily work, work load, broker SOP's and point of contact. Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

Expected to meet or exceed all KPIs associated with the import of product to the US. Expected to meet or exceed all import financial metrics

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY

Required:

Bachelor's degree i Logistics, SCM or Freight Forwarding

3+ years of experience in Oil and Gas with focus on US domestic transportation planning and executing shipments

Knowledgeable of US Import Regulations

Excellent grasp of US Trade Compliance Laws

Excellent management skills

Excellent negotiation skills

Working knowledge of ERP systems like JDE or SAP

10+ years of experience in international logistics

Familiarity with JD Edwards, SAP or equivalent ERP systems

Advanced desktop computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook required

Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time sensitive tasks in a dynamic environment

Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency
