Position Description:
Saudi Aramco's Power Systems Department provides engineering, operation and investment services for the company's downstream and upstream operations and plants.

Power Systems Planning is seeking a Utility Integrated Resource Planning Engineer with a strong background in power system economics. The candidate will be part of a team conducting analysis related to short-term and long-term generation and fuel planning and optimization and relevant efficiency enhancements for the utility sector. Duties will include the use of utility expansion tools and optimization, analysis of outcomes, technology selection and policy recommendations.

Minimum Requirements:
As the successful candidate you will have:

A bachelor degree in electrical engineering (a master degree is desirable). You will have steadily advanced your professional competence in your area of expertise through personal study, relevant and expanding work experiences, seminars, professional contacts and extension courses.

At least fifteen years of experience in the petroleum or other related industry, where an appreciation of operating problems and their relationship to planning and economics has been gained. Supervisory experience is preferred. Experience must be sufficiently broad so as to allow incumbent to be effective in an assignment to all three planning areas.

Proven ability to handle complex problems in a rigorous, analytical fashion.

Knowledge of how and when to use a wide variety of statistical and financial analytical tools, and have a working knowledge of petroleum economics, technology and accounting.

Ability to understand, interpret and communicate the rationale for corporate reporting requirements as related to business plans, manpower budgets and capital and operating budgets to all levels of management.

The ability to work with minimum supervision on relatively unstructured tasks.

Proven ability to produce top quality reports.

An excellent command of English language, both verbal and written.

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:

Performs special assignments of a highly complex nature significantly impacting the company.

Determines how projects can be divided into manageable pieces and follows through with specialized and expert assistance, advice and guidance to achieve a successful conclusion. Maximizes the company's operation with care and judgment in the best interest of the company/country.

Advises and assists other organizations, when asked, in the solution of specific complex planning and analytical problems.

Originates, develops and recommends the implementation of new planning and analytical concepts and techniques in order to achieve better overall results in management and controls. This includes professional modeling experience for long-term planning activities using professional tools such as Plexos, Strategist, AURORA, etc.

Trains and guides specialists developing in his area of expertise.

Acts as Company representative in meetings of professionals in his specialty.

Directs analysis and work of others assigned as a task force to specific problems.

Acts as senior consultant in company interactions with SAG counterparts in the specific area of expertise.

Acts as the company's foremost expert in their sphere of planning and analytical expertise. This includes professional level of market intelligence and strategy proposals related to the power business.

Organizes, mobilizes, directs and evaluates applicable outside consultants in the solution of specific company problems as the need arises. In all such jobs, incumbent acts as the contract administrator and is responsible for seeing that the job is completed.

Prepares and presents lectures, both inside and outside the company, on subjects such as planning and analysis, various aspects of the oil industry, and economic developments in Saudi Arabia.

Prepares special studies and analyses, as required, for the Management Committee and Planning Advisory Committee.

Originates creative planning and analytical procedures for determination of future manpower levels in the company, taking into consideration the factors associated with hiring, training, educating and developing employees over many years.
