Role Summary:

As Lead Aerospace Equipment Engineer, you will take the technical lead on projects, and guide early career engineers. You will present to senior leaders and to cross functional teams on how technologies interconnect and contribute to overall strategy. You will also be expected to present and communicate with our customers

Essential Responsibilities:

In the position of Lead Aerospace Equipment Engineer, you will:

 

  • Manage multiple system / product programs throughout the product lifecycle
  • Provide excellent customer-facing support to define technical solutions that meet accuracy, performance, environmental and certification requirements of aerospace customers
  • Technically lead integration of pressure sensing components for the harsh environments associated with the aerospace industry and similar application spaces
  • Design Change Initiation and implementation in accordance with Configuration Control procedures
  • Collaborate with Leicester based manufacturing team to ensure clean launch of designs on ongoing support of production designs
  • Design concept and model development for customer applications and management through review cycle and handoff into program management
  • Provide Customer application support and customer communications
  • Provide critical review of design specifications and capture of all requirements, including supporting customers in the development and refinement of requirements that optimize solutions, certification approaches, manufacturability and product cost
  • Support external customers, internal sales and marketing functions
  • Produce high quality standard of documentation for Internal & External product / system documentation
  • Continually develop and advance internal operating, design and documentation procedures
  • Input to quality improvement processes
  • Be a liaison with support functions such a quality, supply chain, supplier base etc


Qualifications/Requirements:

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in the aerospace industry


Eligibility Requirements:

 

 

  • Travel 30% of the time both internationally and domestically, as required


Desired Characteristics:

 

 

  • Interpret and have working knowledge of Aerospace specifications, standards and drawings
  • Experience with aerospace pressure sensing components
  • Knowledge of aviation pressure sensors
  • Knowledge of system verification and validation techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in technical writing and procedure development
  • Strong people and time management skills. Strong self-motivated individual able to work independently and with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Familiar with Design Change Initiation and Configuration Control requirement's that are essential for the Aerospace environment
  • Work to deadlines and respond effectively to demanding customer requests
  • Experience of pressure transducers and compensation techniques
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt trained and certified
  • Aerospace industry experience in component design, system design or test
  • Knowledge of sector quality management processes such as AS9100, GRESS, GRAMS
  • Knowledge of environmental test requirements such as DO160 & Mil Std 810
  • Knowledge of Aerospace Electro-mechanical products and suppliers
  • Experience of using Configuration Control and Requirements Management databases (Doors / Cradle / etc.)
