Leading HSSEQ activities within your designated business area, you will manage existing HSSEQ performance while driving significant development of systems and working practices, enabling the improvement of safety, quality, costs, compliance and efficiency.
Continuously promoting a pro-active safety culture, your responsibilities will include devising, planning, implementing and maintaining HSSEQ systems and ensuring incident investigations are managed in a thorough and timely manner. You will conduct root cause analysis to deliver the best solutions for the business, work with site management to address non-conformances and agree the implementation of remedial actions, conducting follow-up reviews to ensure their effectiveness.
This senior role will have also hold responsibility as PFSO.
As a highly visible manager representing a global business, you will be required to attend and present at company and client meetings and performance reviews, provide input to commercial tendering opportunities and establish strong professional relationships, maintaining trust and confidence with colleagues, clients, industry bodies and regulatory authorities.

Candidates must demonstrate competency in and practical experience of site emergency procedures including direct interfacing with external regulatory authorities, e.g. HSE, SEPA, FDA and MHRA. A working knowledge of site PPC license (Pollution Prevention Control) and COMAH legislation (Control of Major Accident Hazards) is essential along with practical knowledge of working within the Waste Management sector.
The successful candidate will have achieved Degree level in a safety management qualification and/or possess a NEBOSH Diploma, and hold CMIOSH and/or IIRSM membership. Computer literacy is essential, and you will be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Also essential is a full driving licence and mobility to undertake travel within the UK, as required.
