Role Summary:

The position is for a Systems Engineer who will work as part of the Artificial Lift Systems Research and Technology Development team. Said team is tasked with researching, conceptualizing, designing and qualifying next generation artificial lift systems. The candidate will work in an innovative, challenging and rewarding environment with a team of highly qualified diverse professionals focused on pushing the limits of artificial lift technology through customer focus, creative thinking, research, design, analysis, prototyping, engineering test and field testing. The candidate will interact customers along with a board range of internal and external technical experts to create and validate new technology to be integrated into internal business solutions or external commercial product offerings.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Lead systems engineering and numerical modeling activities related to the definition, design, testing and validation artificial lift technologies. Technologies to include mechanical hardware, electrical hardware, software, firmware and data science & machine learning models.
  • Work with external/internal customers to develop a structured definition of problem statement and document customer level requirements for project
  • Decompose customer requirements to create detailed system, subsystem and component level requirements with supporting verification and validation matrix
  • Develop system architectures, functional diagrams, states and modes, failure mode analyses and design concepts which support modular and open design philosophies
  • Develop system, subsystem and component level physics models to support requirements decomposition, performance modeling, trade studies, design tool creation and definition of product digital twins.
  • Support creation and execution of system, subsystem and component level test and verification plans which ensure that all elements of the system are compliant with the customer requirements
  • Perform technology research and evaluation as required to identify existing or emerging technologies which are applicable to artificial lift applications and to evaluate intellectual property rights / claims
  • Generate reports and other project artifacts to document, archive, and communicate task and project results
  • Establish best practices within team for systems engineering, modeling and testing
  • Support the development of project plans by developing: task lists, engineering estimates, resource requirements, project schedules, technical risk assessments and mitigation plans
  • Capability to effectively collaborate with other functions such as Supply Chain, Field Operations, Product Line Managers and Customer Relation teams to: ensure project tasks are completed within allocated schedule and budget, develop understanding of business operations, and disseminate technical knowledge
  • Interface with internal and external customers in professional manner
  • Perform special projects as required


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Physics): Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years' experience or a Master's Degree with 4+ years' experience. Work experience shall be in relevant systems engineering role. Compensation will be commensurate with level of experience and skill set.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US. Sponsorship of employment visas will not be offered.
  • Demonstrated ability quickly learn and develop competence in a broad range of technologies
  • A practical and theoretical background in system, subsystem and component design (conceptual, preliminary, detailed design), manufacturing, prototype development and engineering test
  • Detailed numerical / multi-physics modeling and analysis of total systems through advanced use of Matlab & Simulink, Mathcad or other comparable software packages
  • MS Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
  • Demonstrated ability to complete project work on time and within budget
  • Must be action oriented and driven to achieve results while receiving moderate to minimal supervision
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build strong peer relationships
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be willing to office in Claremore, OK


Desired Characteristics:
  • Development of system functional block diagrams, states and modes, failure mode analyses and system risk and opportunity matrices
  • Strong knowledge electrical systems, sensors, controls and automation
  • Experience in development of mechanical, electrical and software systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in coding in one or more of the following languages including: C, C++, Java, Python and Matlab
  • Advanced use of LabVIEW
  • Experience working in an innovation and research environment
  • Proven ability to think customer-first and effectively prioritize and pivot as required
