Position Description:

The Eastern Area Exploration Department is seeking a top Geologist - Prospect Generator with clastic or carbonate sequence and seismic stratigraphy experience to join their world class team.

The successful applicant will be seasoned in prospect generation, using seismic attribute analysis for lithology, porosity, and fluid type prediction.

You will have a proven track record working on large wells and seismic datasets, have experience of sequence stratigraphic well correlation, and sedimentary facies prediction.


Minimum Requirements:

As the successful candidate you will have a Bachelors' degree in Geology, preferably you will have a Masters' degree in geology with emphasis on carbonate or clastic seismic stratigraphy, and attribute analysis.

You will have 10+ years' experience in exploring for hydrocarbons in a clastic or carbonate environment. Preferably, this experience will have been acquired in a Major or Independent oil company.

A proven track record of finding hydrocarbons, and advanced experience of using Petrel, Petrosys, and G&G applications.


Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be required to perform the following:

Develop leads, generate prospects, mature these prospects; and work within a multi- disciplinary team.

Apply advanced sequence and stratigraphic analysis using G&G applications. This will include visualization, integration of various G&G datasets, Chrono stratigraphy, depth conversion, and generating multiple scenarios based on sound velocity models.

Conduct sequence stratigraphic well correlation, sedimentary facies prediction, and seismic sequence stratigraphy.

Generate advanced seismic attribute analysis, and use this analysis on large wells, and seismic datasets.

Interface with multiple levels, including subordinates, peers, supervisors, and venture partners.
