This position will assume the responsibilities to prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for mechanical and electrical projects for industrial customers throughout the world.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Review and analyze the contents of a typical bid package, including all specifications, drawings, addenda and special instructions to the bidders.

• Identify and resolve any conflicts between the specifications and approved fire protection standards.

• Interpret requirements for all codes and standards as they apply to the proposed project.

• Complete preliminary Bill of Materials including quantities of materials, labor requirements and unit costs.

• Complete the required customer bid submittal forms per the bid package instructions.

• Perform final review to ensure conformance with all requirements and obtain necessary internal approvals.

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering and 2-5 years field and/or design estimating experience or

• High School Diploma and 5+years field and/or design estimating experience in fire protection with NICET certification or equivalent

• State of Texas License (Fire Alarm, Sprinkler, and/or Fire Extinguisher)

• NICET Certification in Fire Alarm, Special Hazards, and/or Water Based Layout preferred

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to maintain good working relationships with all level of company employees, clients and vendors
