Job Description

Where you fit in?

Projects & Technology (P&T) was established to improve performance, functioning as the red thread across the Shell value chain, working closely with Upstream, Integrated Gas and Downstream colleagues to enhance our competitive edge. P&T provides technical services, technology capability and major project delivery in both Upstream, Integrated Gas and Downstream activities. We also deliver differentiating technical information technology (IT) for Shell and drive research and innovation to create technology solutions for tomorrow. Safety & Environment and Contracting & Procurement are also rooted in P&T.

The role of the Legal Services Projects & Technology (LSPT) organisation is to provide legal advice, support and related services to the Projects & Technology technical divisions in a proactive, timely, cost-effective and professional manner with a view to furthering business objectives and protecting shareholder interests. LSPT seeks to ensure that legal risks are identified, appropriate alternative structures and strategies are considered and documents are drafted to reflect accurately commercial decisions, at all times consistent with professional standards, legal obligations, the Shell General Business Principles and the rest of the Shell Control Framework.

While the role has a clear responsibility and accountability for business units in P&T, LSPT works as a global team and all LSPT lawyers are expected to support each other and at times, undertake work supporting other business units. This cross-over is also encouraged from a personal development perspective.

Shell Legal is committed to support flexible working arrangements where feasible, and subject to applicable local Country policy, regulations and legislative frameworks. Please feel free to make clear during the selection process the type of flexible working arrangements for which you would like to be considered

What's the role?

You will provide professional, timely, cost-effective and practical legal advice and support to the Wells organization in the US and Canada and where required globally. Furthermore, the successful candidate may be required to provide support to Contracting and Procurement (C&P) in the Americas as needed and agreed with the MC Wells.
