Position Description:
Shedgum Gas Plant Dept is looking to hire a Corrosion Engineer to be responsible for providing technical support to operating facilities, projects, technology deployment, and talent development of new corrosion engineers.

ShGP was brought on stream in 1981. The plant current processing capacity is 2.5 billion standard cubic feet per day (BSCFD) of associated and non-associated gas. The plant products are NGL, Ethane, Sales Gas and Liquid Sulfur.

You will conducts special studies and analyses in a specialized corrosion control field, such as Corrosion Management program CMP, Risk Based Inspection RBI, cathodic protection, water treatment, chemical inhibition or materials selection. Provides specialized technical corrosion control and monitoring services and consultation.

Minimum Requirements:
As a successful candidate you should have a BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or Corrosion Science with minimum of (15) years of experience in processing in Oil/Gas Industry, material science and metrology, different NDT technology and their applications and knowledge in engineering aspect of welding.

You should have strong knowledge of the international standards and codes NACE, ASME, API and ASTM especially inspection and corrosion standards such as API-571, API-580, API-570 and API-510. And also you should hold a valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist or combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist, API-571 and NACE CP level II.

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:

Provide expert advice and assistance to design, construction, operations and maintenance personnel on matters pertaining to a corrosion control area.

Perform special studies in corrosion control. Evaluates data as to scope, impact and long-range cost effectiveness on existing and planned facilities, and coordinates the preparation of reports.

Provide evaluation data on capabilities of corrosion control vendors and contractors.

Review operations and monitoring activities associated with corrosion control facilities to identify needed system modifications or procedural changes.

Keeps current with significant developments in corrosion control, with emphasis on incumbent's area of specialty, through technical literature, participation in professional and industry society meetings, etc.

Develop and review Corrosion Damage mechanism for all plant units. Also, optimize the required and proper type of NDT inspection.

Investigate and corrosion related failure, identify the root causes and develop the required actions that prevent reoccurrence

Conduct in house technical training for Inspection personal for inspection requirements awareness.

Help of deploying the inspection & corrosion state of art technologies that could enhance our inspection activities and accuracy.

Help in developing the Corrosion Control Documents (CCDs) for ShGP Operating Units

Work collaboratively with Process engineering to enhance plant chemical treatment that may have integrity impact of our assets.

Review and investigate any up normal inspection measurements (e.g OSI) and come up with the required actions timely.
