Our workforce, like our technology, is rapidly expanding and looking for a qualified Directional Drilling Specialist - Performance Tools.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The directional drilling specialist provides support to the directional automation product lines within Nabors. Their primary responsibility is on-site training to ensure successful deployments of the technology. Combining a deep understanding of the directional drilling process with expert level knowledge of the automation tools the directional drilling specialist provides insightful analysis and recommendations to improve both the product and the efficiency of drilling operations.

• Field Responsibilities
o On boarding rig staff on RigWatch® Navigator and ROCKit Pilot
o Provide expert feedback to development team and onsite support for end users

• Office Responsibilities
o Help in commercialization efforts for Navigator and Pilot
o Analyze field results and compile field reports

• Remote Directional Field Support
o Provide in-depth Navigator/ Pilot analysis extending beyond the scope of basic report interpretation, including interaction with customer and field personnel to obtain information as needed.
o Provide on-site expert support to drilling operations during field trials
o Ensure active communication with product line managers, area managers and other required stakeholders

• Product Development
o Provide input for product planning based on field observations and customer feedback.
o Create reports for internal and external distribution to document value of the products and recommended next steps in technology adoption.
o Develop and maintain Navigator/ Pilot performance metrics, tools and methodologies.
o Actively contribute to the development of Navigator/Pilot through improvements to the products as well as data entry and analysis
o Develop training materials. quick reference guides, best practices for Navigator/Pilot

• Customer loyalty
o Build strong relationships with customers/field personnel based on thorough understanding of Navigator/ Pilot
o Support the differentiation of the Nabors offering by working closely with customers to become an integral part of their processes to measure and improve performance.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Degree or Equivalent
• Thorough understanding of the directional drilling process and the mechanics/physics involved with at least 5 years directional drilling experience
• Strong analytical skills; Demonstrated ability to develop analysis spreadsheets and reports.
• Highly proficient with MS Excel: management of large data sets, complex graphs and reports
• Effective verbal and written communicator.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Experience with Nabors Performance Tools product suite
• Field experience in more than one area (Ex North Dakota, South Texas)

• Self-starter; Attention to detail; ability to deliver quality reports and document with minimum supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Apt to teach
• Highly proficient with MS Excel: management of large data sets, complex graphs and reports,
• Strong analytical skills; Demonstrated ability to develop analysis spreadsheets and reports.
• Travel is required and key part of the role (75% of time)
• Ability to work hitch or extended rotation work in the field
