The Health, Safety, Environment & Community (HSEC) Advisor is based in London reporting to the Oil Department HSEC Manager. The role will advise and support on HSEC activity in both the London office and on the ground supporting terminal assets. This will require regular travel to assets which are mainly based in Africa, Europe and the Americas. The role will ensure that London office and assets have access to capable and responsive HSEC risk management support.

The role would suit a well-rounded HSEC professional with 15+ years industry experience, able to work effectively in both a corporate and operational environment, preferably with significant international experience.


" Support development and rollout of asset risk identification, assessment and management programmes. Verify that assets have appropriate risk registers, plans and critical control verification processes in line with the Glencore Corporate Risk Management Framework
" Plan, execute and monitor close-out of HSEC assurance activity
" Provide assurance that Asset HSE Management Systems effectively cover relevant 'verifiable outcomes' embedded in corporate HSEC policies. Support development and maintenance of Asset HSE Management Systems
" Provide HSEC input and support to project and technical design activity e.g. design safety reviews, PHA's, MoC, ESIAs, licensing, etc
" Collate, quality assure and report on asset sustainability performance
" Act as specialist incident investigation resource and coordinate asset investigation and reporting
" Support asset HSEC capability through coaching and mentoring of local HSEC personnel

" Engineering or Science Degree
" Accreditation with a relevant professional body
" 15+ years industry experience - preferably working in terminal/downstream operations and project environments
" Experience of working in emerging cultures, particularly in Africa
