  • To supervise and manage the instrumentation and control maintenance activities in the plant, including all preventive and corrective maintenance, systems engineering design, planned outage and overhauling work activities for all instrumentation and control systems in accordance with overall maintenance plans, HSE guidelines and quality standards to ensure plant availability and system reliability.
  • Supervise the activities and work of the team members to ensure that targets and objectives are achieved and the business plan is delivered in line with the required policies, processes, procedures and systems.
  • Monitor the Instrumentation and Control preventive and corrective maintenance and overhauling work activities to ensure safe and efficient application of procedures and implementation of optimal Instrumentation and Control maintenance operations.
  • Ensure that all documentation is completed correctly such as the Log, outlining the fault, method of repair and the time, labour and materials used in order to support timely availability of information.
  • Manage the timely response to all emergency breakdowns and provide prompt corrective action to ensure plant availability, thereby minimizing downtime and possibility of liquidity damages.
  • Develop and promote a condition based preventive maintenance culture on day to day basis by conducting troubleshooting and root cause analyses, finding solutions to reduce reactive maintenance.
  • Prepare feasibility studies for new installations, replacements or repair of existing Instrumentation and Control systems including technical evaluation, specifications and materials for modifications in addition to process diagrams and cost estimates and ensure proper follow up reports and evaluation on completed modifications.


  • A Bachelor degree holder in Engineering.
  • 8-10 years' experience in Instrument and Control Maintenance in water desalination and power generation plants where 2 years of experience are in a supervisory role.Team work and effective collaboration skills
  • Practical experience and know-how of Instrument and Control Engineering
  • Knowledge of downtime analysis and practical knowledge of problem solving tools
  • Knowledge of maintenance management methods, of predictive inspection tools and of CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System, good knowledge of SAP Template desirable)
  • Project Management
  • Detailed understanding of preventative/predictive maintenance theory
  • Mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Knowledge of the operations in water desalination and power generation plants
  • Strong planning, organizing, and integration skills
  • Experience of having conducted at least one outage for critical instrumentation and control systems
  • Team work and effective collaboration skills
