Project Manager - Direct Hire

Geismar, Louisiana


We are currently seeking a Project Manager who will be a member of the Geismar Engineering Services team at Client's Geismar site. In this role, you will be accountable for the successful completion of sustaining capital projects ranging in value from $100k to $15M.

Responsibilities:
  • Leading multi-discipline teams to complete Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and Startup activities to meet project objectives
  • Working closely with technical manufacturing and operations staff, engineering firms, specialty consultants, vendors and construction contractors
  • Provide project management leadership that encompasses the entire project lifecycle, including Responsible Care (safety, health & environment), quality, schedule, and cost-efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with all Responsible Care and management of change policies and procedures
  • Ensuring adherence to Client's Project Development and Implementation process
  • Implementing effective project management practices and tools throughout the project investigation and implementation
  • Ensuring continual communication with the project champions and decision boards
  • Ensuring all project documentation is completed and communicated
  • Clearly communicating task assignments and performance expectations to team members and conduct regular project team meetings
  • Ensures business case development for their projects
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have an engineering degree with a P.E. designation and 8+ years of related experience or a technical diploma and ten or more year's related experience.

In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Project management experience overseeing all aspects of a project, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting
  • Ability to predict risk areas, design mitigation/contingency strategies and execute on these strategies for projects
  • Effective communication, and teamwork skills, as well as computer proficiency, are key qualities
  • Ability to make effective decisions by analyzing information and considering priorities is essential
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation will be an asset
