The Eastern Area Exploration Department is seeking a top Prospect Generator, with strong clastic sequence and seismic stratigraphy experience, to join their world class team.
You will be seasoned in prospect generation, have a proven track record in finding hydrocarbons in clastic environments, and have experience of working on large wells and seismic datasets.
As the successful candidate you will have a bachelor degree in geology or geophysics. It is preferred that you have a master or Ph.D. degree, with emphasis on clastic stratigraphy and seismic stratigraphy.
You will have a minimum of 10 years' experience exploring for hydrocarbons in clastic environments.
Preferably, this experience will have been acquired working for major or independent oil companies operating in clastic basins in North America (USA and Canada), and companies working in the North Sea.
Middle East experience is highly desirable.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Develop strong leads, generate prospects, mature these prospects; and work within a multidisciplinary team.
Manage advanced sequence and stratigraphic analysis using G&G applications. This will include visualization, integration of various G&G datasets, and chronostratigraphy.
Conduct advanced seismic interpretation, sequence stratigraphic well correlation, and sedimentary facies prediction.
Petrophysics analysis in clastic environments, and have an in-depth understanding of rock physics.
Generate advanced seismic attribute analysis, and use this analysis on large wells and seismic datasets.
Interface with multiple levels, including subordinates, peers, supervisors, and venture partners.
