Role Summary/Purpose

Baker Hughes Remote Diagnostics Service team provides valve diagnostic services and digital product sales support for the process and energy industries. The Digital Service Leader will build and lead the F&PT Diagnostic Service center. This newly created position will build a team that is focused on providing complete technical and commercial support for Baker Hughes' Diagnostics and Analytic services.

Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Digital Service Leader, you will:
  • Setting the Digital Service strategy leveraging the global infrastructure and market requirements
  • Work with Product Management and engineering to refine and optimize the diagnostic collection tools
  • Build and train a team of valve diagnostic specialists to support remote valve diagnostics monitoring
  • Develop tools and infrastructure to deliver valve diagnostics reports and associated spare parts recommendations quickly and cost effectively
  • Monitor and own the Diagnostics Service center cost structure and ensure overall profitability
  • Support Sales team presentations to new and existing customers on the benefits of Valve Lifecycle Management, digital valve positioners, valve diagnostic tools, and associated software
  • End user support including equipment troubleshooting as well as software installation and configuration
  • Support valve diagnostics services by creating/communicating valve fleet diagnostic reports to plant operators and reliability/maintenance teams
  • Prepare and deliver training classes to internal and external audiences
  • Represent the Company and products at Trade Shows and Technical Seminars
  • Provide feedback to Corporate on market conditions, competitive issues, customer needs, and marketing/sales tool requirements
  • Work closely with engineering to better refine/improve product offering

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the Process Controls industry

Desired Characteristics
  • BS in Computer Systems, Chemical, or Process Control Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with Digital Valve Products and Valve Diagnostics
  • Working knowledge of control valves and how they operation
  • Detailed knowledge of control valve operations and applications in the Process Control Industries
  • Strong grasp of the application of HART and Foundation Fieldbus Protocols and FDT/DTM Technology
  • Working knowledge of asset management software: Emerson AMS, Yokogawa PRM, APM or similar systems
  • Working knowledge of pneumatically operated valves and their failure modes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate clearly with a wide range of people from different professional, cultural and business backgrounds
  • Able to present and discuss complex technical material in a concise yet meaningful manner to large groups
  • Proven record of success in a results-driven environment
  • Solid Microsoft Office knowledge is required
  • Must be a self-starter and thrive with limited supervision while in the office or on the road
  • Demonstrate a history of Continuing Education in the Process Controls disciplines
