ROLE SUMMARY

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Responsible for all functions relating to: Incoming material inspections; in-process inspections; final inspection and release of products manufactured.
  • Assists in troubleshooting quality issues in liaison with technical product management.
  • Maintains monitoring and measurement equipment to ensure reliability of quality data relating to product specifications.
  • Helps establish overall processes and continuous improvement program design and implements throughout a division or specific site.
  • Responsible for ensuring that process risks and opportunities are identified and actions taken to minimize risks and maximize opportunities where deemed feasible.
  • Assists in any quality incident investigations, root cause analysis, implementation of corrective action, and ensure actions taken are effective.
  • Responsible for maintaining ISO certification at the site and facilitating internal/external/customer audits as required.
  • Accountable for maintaining safe laboratory practices and abiding by all HSE policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for monitoring, measuring, and reporting quality metrics including costs of quality.
  • Works closely with management to ensure established competency management requirements are fulfilled.
  • Liaise with other plant personnel to ensure that quality focus and customer outcomes are prioritized accordingly and promotes a culture of quality at the plant.
  • Will be the point of contact between the plant and the sales workforce on quality and technical matters.
  • Engages in obtaining customer feedback and activities to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Handles special projects and other duties, as assigned.
  • Has a moderate deal of latitude and associated accountability.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology or a Science related field preferred OR Associates Degree with 5+ years' experience in quality operations related field.
  • Chemical laboratory experience required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • QC lab experience preferred.
  • Root cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
