Role Summary:

The Aviation Key Accounts manager is responsible for managing Key Large Volume Aviation Key Accounts within the Baker Hughes IT business. The role is accountable for growing the Bake Hughes IT business across a number of aviation strategic accounts, coordinating with regional sales and commercial operations, marketing, product, project functional organizations and the service business to deliver sustainable and profitable growth with key aviation customers. This role will be responsible for approximately $20MM in annual orders operating plan.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Senior Sales Manager, you will:


  • Develop growth strategies for the Aviation vertical market space to include Tier I suppliers of key Aviation OEMs
  • Strong ability to engage both customer and internal Sr. Leadership to develop and communicate strategy in a clear and concise manner
  • Provide aviation industry expertise to drive achievement of overall orders and CM growth targets
  • Develop unique business plans for each aviation key account leveraging the resources available (technical sales manager, channel manager, after-market sales team, inside sales, services and channel partners.)
  • Identify, develop and support the regional sales and operations teams to close sales opportunities
  • Work effectively in a horizontal functional team environment with Commercial Operations, Technical Operations, Engineering, Finance, Service and Project Management to deliver a world class customer experience around the companies three key metrics of OTD, Quality and Responsiveness
  • Commercialize New Product Introductions (NPIs) and support product management team with recommendations of future NPI investments, key marketing and trade show needs within the various verticals to grow market share
  • Provide regular updates of operating plan status, key commercial opportunities and other key metrics utilizing business tools including SFDC, Deal Machine, Account Management Process (AMP), Bluesheets and Tableau, etc.
  • Build influential relationships with assigned customers at all levels and develop strategies to win profitable business from those key customers




  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales with large Aviation OEMs

Eligibility Requirements:



  • Travel about 50% of the time, as required to meet customer needs
  • Work overtime, as required
