Role Summary:

Baker Hughes is currently hiring a LMS Data Analyst/SumTotal Report Developer based in Tomball, TX

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain simple to complex SumTotal reports (advanced, matrix, composite, BIRT) utilizing SumTotal Report Writer and Report Designer, as well as other organizational tools and available technologies
  • Develop and execute unit/system test plans; ensuring delivery of a quality product
  • Partner with stakeholders (internal/external to LMS project team) to understand report/data requirements and ensure results meet the business needs
  • Implement proof of concepts to confirm feasibility of requirements
  • Work with technology/security teams to define and create calc fields, security policies and other SumTotal objects to support the evolving reporting needs of the organization
  • Troubleshoot report related issues and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Lead efforts to analyze and optimize report performance
  • Drive new KPIs, metrics, tracking methodologies and data visualizations
  • Maintain proper change management documentation to satisfy the company's internal/external audit controls
  • Serve as an escalation point for troubleshooting LMS reporting inquires/issues
  • Manage development progress by tracking activity and publishing status updates
  • Review system upgrades/releases to determine overall business impact, conduct regression testing and make recommendations for future enhancements/functionality
  • Maintain awareness of current trends in SumTotal Reporting and best practices
  • Actively participate in SumTotal Community by researching, contributing to content, voting on Brainstorms, etc.
  • Participate on creating end-user educational training on LMS reporting and/or processes
  • Assist in project management of Learning Management System clean-up, migration and maintenance
  • Handles special projects, as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science preferred; or other business related Bachelor's degree with extensive systems/analytics experience.
  • 4+ years HR or LMS data analyst experience, including the ability to understand the business requirements, user needs and translate them into operational requirements
  • Knowledge of SumTotal Report Writer (Training can be provided prior to job commencement).
  • Functional knowledge on SumTotal Learning Management System (Core and Learn)
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy with highly confidential data
  • Experience gathering business requirements, developing reports, and prioritizing requests
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel & MS PowerPoint (creating graphics, charts)
  • Ability to assist users with report creation/execution and troubleshoot performance and malfunction issues
  • Level 2 Excel Certification (Ability to build pivot tables, and other advanced functions: Count, Countif, VLookup, HLoopup, etc.)

Desired Characteristics:
  • Previous experience with SumTotal Report Writer
  • Knowledge of SumTotal data sources and complex calc fields
  • Experience with any of the following: Tableau, Regulatory Reporting Requirements, SOX and Compliance Requirements
  • Knowledge of SQL to perform code promotion
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into meaningful information in a report so someone can quickly understand what they are looking at, and make any needed decisions
  • 3+ years of business project management, preferably with systems integration or migration clean-up efforts
