The HR Advisor, as part of the Accelerated Human Resources Development Program (AHRDP), is developed and tasked through a customized three (3) year program designed to apply acquired knowledge, leverage on-the-job experiences, develop skills in practical, hands on HR applications through a variety of assignments. These assignments will vary in length ranging from six (6) to twelve (12) months, based on annual business cycles and the performance and development needs of the individual.
This role is an integral part of the Corporate and/or Geozone HR teams within the Global Human Resources Function, reporting up through the assigned Corporate, Geozone or Country HR Manager. In close collaboration with HR Leadership, Global and Geozone HR Business Partners, and HR Centers of Expertise (COEs), the HR Advisor - AHRDP works closely with assigned managers and employees to anticipate and support HR-related needs and serves as a consultant to management on HR-related issues. Maintains an effective level of business literacy about company and business unit financial results, business plans, culture and competition. Responsible for a variety of HR duties as needed to include, but not limited to HR generalist responsibilities, staffing, employee relations, training and development, compensation, performance management, and organizational health/culture.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : Key Accountabilities and assignments may include, and are not limited to:
HR Operations, Systems and Services - This element provides in-depth knowledge of HR back office systems and processes, with focus on process optimization and enabling the organization to execute to a high standard of quality and consistency. This area of assignment will include a strong focus on data integrity and confidentiality and include management of employee data and analysis, people metrics and business / HR reporting.
Client-Facing HR Advisory Role - typically, this aspect of the development would occur in either a Country, Manufacturing, Operations, or Corporate client environment. Work performed in the aspect of the role will be to guide and advise line management through effective communication and consultation on all HR needs including employee/labor relations, performance and reward systems, recruitment and staffing, and training and development.
Centralized HR Functions - this includes such as specialized areas as employee relations, recruiting, compensation, benefits, HRMS, mobility or talent. Time and effort devoted to this area of work provides exposure to and the opportunity to contribute specialty HR skills such as managing a full life-cycle recruitment requisition, executing annual compensation surveys, assisting with annual benefits enrollment, improving business processes and participating in enterprise-wide talent reviews.
Corporate Project -this may involve participation in a transformation initiative or a pivotal change management project for the business or internal HR function that could benefit or be leveraged across the enterprise.
MBA or Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management from a recognized University. Graduates from Texas A&M Mays School of Business, Master of Science in HR Management preferred.
- One to two years of general business experience preferred; may include experience developed through structured university internships
- Advanced skills in Excel, Powerpoint, and other standard office and collaboration software.
- Ability to travel regularly between assigned business locations across the assignd geographical area. Occasional, overnight travel (10-15%) may be required.
- Ability to quickly learn new HR systems and tools.
- Data analysis and interpretation skills with attention to detail
- Must have an international mindset, to think globally and objectively
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with multiple priorities and tight timelines, making efficient use of time management
- Works effectively in a matrix organizational structure, including collaborating with and influencing peers and clients as a trusted advisor and partner.
