Our Client is looking for a Planning Engineer, on a permanent staff basis, location in Aberdeen.

ROLE

Responsible for providing planning and control activities to client operations and projects. Ensure the systems, processes and reporting requirements for internal clients are in place and adhered to in line with the client planning procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adherence to the planning control procedure
  • Development and production of contract control schedules, project reporting packages and ad-hoc schedules where required
  • Monitor and report progress on projects, identify trends / issues and provide corrective measures in an advisory manner to project managers
  • Liaise with project managers and project teams for planning matters, facilitating planning meetings where required
  • Provide planning support to asset managers, project leads and/or technical authorities to generate multi-level schedules as required
  • Attend site for complex projects to provide on-site planning and progress reporting
  • Interface with key suppliers to ensure they are advised of and provide the correct level of reporting
  • Maintain as built schedules and conduct as built analysis, including peer reviews
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis
  • Attend, facilitate and contribute to project

 

REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

  • Relevant planning experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
  • Microsoft Project experience
  • Knowledge of construction and/or marine projects
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • General IT skills
  • Interpersonal skills (ability to generate and maintain professional working relationships with key stakeholders)
  • Communication skills (ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders to articulate requirements and encourage action)
  • Enthusiasm
  • Flexibility
  • Mobility (short-term business trips up to 1-4 weeks - 4 times a year, world-wide locations, at reasonable notice)
  • Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behaviour

Nice to have:

  • HNC (or above) in an Engineering / Science based subject
  • Planning / Project Control Qualification
  • Oracle Primavera risk analysis certification and experience
  • Strong analytical skills
