Position Description:
We are looking for experienced Petroleum Engineering Specialist to join us in the Upstream Development Strategy and Reserves Department (UDSRD) within Petroleum Engineering, based in the Exploration and Petroleum Engineering Center in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. We manage one of the world's largest portfolios of onshore and offshore oil and gas fields. We provide opportunities to conduct pioneering studies, introduce new technologies and provide specialized engineering services as part of our reservoir development, full life-cycle depletion planning and management practices.

You should have broad and solid experience in the Oil & Gas upstream business with specialty skills in subsurface evaluation. UDSD requires experienced reservoir engineering professionals with in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following Petroleum Engineering technical specialties: (1) oil and gas reservoir development and depletion plans, (2) investment decision analysis (including risk and uncertainty), and (3) long-term strategic alternative scenarios of sustainable production profiles.

UDSRD provides high level technical support to Upstream Management in its assigned areas of responsibility. This role requires both depth and breadth of critical technical expertise, managerial acumen and exceptional communication skills. As indicated by its critical functional areas, the Department has significant influence on the Company's performance along the value chain, from the initial evaluation of exploration activities to assessment of reserves bases, planning of field development and production, and funding and implementation of rolling cost-effective oil and gas programs that deliver required hydrocarbons to customers on time.

The specialist will lead the conceptual oil & gas field developments and their commerciality assessments, focusing on long-term reservoir development, depletion planning and management issues for the Company's 50-Year strategy plan. This includes holistic corporate modeling and decision analysis to support value optimization, including portfolio capacity management, full costs to sales point and revenue for all products.

Minimum Requirements:
As a successful candidate, you should hold a Bachelor's degree and Master's in Petroleum Engineering and or related disciplines. While a PhD is desirable, an additional degree in business, petroleum economics or finance, would be very beneficial.

A minimum of 15 years' experience gained through working for a reputable oil and gas consulting company and/or E&P company with significant emphasis on and specialization in PE technical disciplines and categories such as, Reservoir Characterization, Reservoir Fluid Dynamics, Reservoir Surveillance & Monitoring, Reserves Assessment and Economic Evaluations.

Good familiarity is needed with geology/geophysics, petrophysics, drilling operations, completion methods, artificial lift, well testing, flow assurance, production operations, surface facilities design, and cost estimation.

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in presenting to Executive Management and large audiences and effectively leading teams consisting of geo-scientists, engineers, economies, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities:
You are expected to be able to perform the following:

Provide expert advice and assistance on operating problems relating to your area of expertise.

Specify design criteria and relevant operating parameters for development of new oil & gas projects.

Participate in project technical reviews and reviews proposals for new or changed operating procedures on his area of expertise to ensure efficient and economic operations.

Conduct economic studies and cost analysis, as appropriate, to resolve alternative courses of action.

Provide guidance on upstream investments opportunities.

Perform impairment assessment on upstream assets.

Conduct field portfolio management and projects ranking.

Lead the process of building and updating guidelines for upstream economics evaluation.

Evaluate and help develop new work processes and best technical practices.

Represent Saudi Aramco in external conferences, symposiums and forums.

Train and mentor less experienced professional staff.
