Role Summary:

Baker Hughes is currently hiring a Lead Testing Engineer based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma or Claremore, Oklahoma.

As a key and valued member of the Baker Hughes Artificial Lift Systems (ALS) Simulated Condition (SimCon) and Product Validation team, the Lead Test Engineer will be responsible for developing, supporting and utilizing test systems located at the ALRTC in Claremore and the NPD Lab in Oklahoma City. These tasks include working with Product Engineers to specify the correct instruments and processes for testing, creating software to automate test processes, developing safe testing and system operation procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborates with Product Engineers to ensure that test system capabilities are factored into proposed test plans
  • Interfaces and coordinates with RDD Technicians to ensure that testing is executed to the test plan
  • Analyzes and applies statistical methods to test data for test improvement
  • Review new test setups for electrical safety
  • Provides a mentoring relationship to other engineers, technicians, and interns.
  • Effectively communicate to both management and fellow technical colleagues
  • Write system procedures following accepted Baker Hughes guidelines.


Qualifications/Requirements:

 

 

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering (prefer Electrical)
  • 3+ years of experience in an automation/testing environment
  • Good writing skills
  • Team oriented attitude
  • Experience with product testing of electronic and mechanical products
  • Experience with data acquisition, automation, test hardware, software development, and application design
  • Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, TestStand and other NI products
  • Experience with relevant documentation, such as P&ID, work instructions, schematics, and block diagrams


Desired Characteristics:

 

 

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in an automation/testing environment
  • Knowledge of Database communication
  • Knowledge of modeling in SolidWorks or a similar tool
