Overview:
  • Chevron Upstream Europe (CUE) currently has an opportunity for an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer. Located in Aberdeen, within the Maintenance and Reliability Team, the position is responsible for the provision of onshore technical (I & C) support to the Asset to facilitate safe operations.


Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that instrument equipment and associated system performance are capable of meeting business needs including:
    • Review and implementation of maintenance activities ensuring strategies, compliance, deferrals, changes and scheduling are optimized to give incident free operation and maximum reliability. In conjunction with this process, ensure budgets are monitored and forecasted leading to the formation of annual budgets.
    • Ensure vendor support is effectively and efficiently utilised and that all activities are executed within both the scope and the terms and conditions of any contractual agreement. Identifies potential opportunities for new contractual requirements.
  • Assist with the resolution of operational problems, including participation in and close-out of incident investigations and equipment failure root cause analysis.


Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of instrument and controls systems design, operation and repair techniques.
  • Engineering/Science Degree or equivalent would be preferable, alternatively extensive experience working in a similar position within the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Demonstrates clear understanding of instrumentation and control systems, legislative compliance requirements including risk and integrity management, particularly in respect to safety systems and controls (i.e. Fire & Gas, ESD systems).
  • Proactive approach to HE&S initiatives.
  • Ability to interrogate CMMS (SAP) Work Order Management to control work activities and ensure all work is entered into the short and long range asset plan and completed as scheduled to manage backlog.
