The Prelude FLNG facility is stationed approximately 450 km North of North East of Broome, Western Australia, in Australian Commonwealth Ocean waters of 250 meters depth. It is one of the first of its kind, comprising of sub-sea wells tied back to a Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility, which encompasses gas processing and liquefied through to LNG/LPG/Condensate storage and offloading, with the requisite supporting marine and utilities facilities. It is Shell Development Australia's first operating asset.
We are looking for Mechanical Static Engineer based in Perth with occasional offshore travel to support the Prelude FLNG asset.
Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Static Engineer, you will join our Integrated Engineering team to support the Prelude facility. In this role one of your key roles is to provide mechanical engineering advice including fitness for service assessments, mechanical calculations, trouble shooting, root cause investigations, Brownfield project support and change management. You will work with Maintenance and Operations to make the plant safe, support production and ensure continuous process alignment and improvement. These duties will see you supervise and maintain accountability for the mechanical engineering third party contractors; and act as Contract Owner for mechanical maintenance and engineering services contracts.
Importantly you will adhere to and promote safety and environmental procedures to ensure safety of self, personnel, process plant and environment in addition to responding to any process emergency situations in accordance with emergency procedures.
Your knowledge of the complexity of developing, designing, specifying and evaluating piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and other process equipment will differentiate the two-level roles on offer. In both roles your ability to adapt and deliver in dynamic work environment where priorities often changes are critical.

To be considered for this role you will have:
- An excellent safety records
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering discipline (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working in the static mechanical discipline; preferably within offshore oil and gas facilities
- Proficient in mechanical software packages as well as general Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of evaluating facility layout and equipment and piping arrangement, Flare & Relief systems
- Knowledge of troubleshooting unfired and fired heat transfer equipment, piping failure, welding specifications
- Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
