Role: Graduate Engineer

Location: Aberdeen

Maritime Assurance & Consulting Ltd (MAC) is seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Engineer to join its Dynamic Positioning (DP) department on a permanent basis. You will be joining a team of experienced engineers who have worked on numerous projects worldwide. You will be involved in the analysis of various power, marine auxiliary and control systems on vessels to produce reports and test programmes, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and industry best practice.

The DP department's main tasks involve the production of DP Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs) and subsequent Proving/Annual Trials programmes, then attending the vessel to witness these trials programmes as an independent third party.

A DP assurance practitioner is a position of high responsibility, where you will be working on safety critical systems and often interfacing directly with vessel owners and operators, as well as vessel charterers (e.g. oil majors), and therefore requires a diligent and responsible individual.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
 

  • Desktop analysis of electrical and control system drawings.
  • Production of Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs).
  • Production of DP Proving & Annual Trials programmes.
  • Attending vessels to witness test programmes.
  • Attending client meetings.
  • Regular travel.

  • Willing to travel, occasionally at short notice.

 


Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering or Control Systems.
