Brief Description:
The Senior HSE Advisor will support HSE related activities for the Company's operational crews and facilities. The position has a lead role in health, safety, environmental and compliance program oversight and performing related activities for the organization. This position also requires ensuring HSE/DOT risks are managed according to Company policies, standards and processes, industry best practices and standards, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.   

Reporting to the HSE Director, this position is primarily accountable for the management of the health, safety, and environmental for the company. 

Detailed Description:
• Develop or facilitate HSE training plans and specific training needs, provide training, as appropriate
• Provide environmental program over-site and support to complete required environmental permits, waste management, Tier II and other regulatory reporting, and support corporate environmental compliance initiatives
• Provide industrial hygiene program over-site and support as needed for the implementation and on-going requirement of the industrial hygiene program, conduct or arrange for industrial hygiene sampling and maintenance of associated equipment. 
• Coordinate with HSE Director and operations team to ensure effective use of best practices and consistency in approach to HSE responsibilities
• Promote a risk-based approach to HSE management utilizing Company policies, standards and processes for all operational activities
• Provide HSE support, coaching and training at all levels including promoting Company's commitment to HSE culture for all workers
• Plan and participate in HSE/DOT audits/reviews of operations and related assigned areas to ensure proper implementation and compliance
• Support the implementation and achievement of HSE objectives and performance measures during all operational activities
• Lead initiatives to promote visible and proactive management commitment and employee engagement in HSE activities
• Ensure compliance with systems for collecting, storing, analyzing, tracking and reporting HSE performance data (e.g. Incident report findings, Audit actions, and related HSE/DOT metrics)
• Participate in pre-job planning activities, including Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety and Environmental Assessment (JSEA) and hazard recognition
• Complete HSE reports for area of responsibility and support operational meetings and reviews
• Participate in risk management and HSE activities including risk assessments, audits, HSE Meetings and onsite work activities
• Support DOT compliance initiates and related activities
• Support ATF compliance and related activities
• Participate in the facilitation of medical care management, including employee interviews and frequent face to face follow-ups to ensure compliance with 3rd party medical recommendations

Job Requirements:
• Technical proficiency in the comprehension and application of the applicable regulatory resources and requirements associated with OSHA, DOT,   EPA regulations and consensus standards, API, ANSI, ASME and others as they apply to the oil and gas industry
• Technical proficiency in emergency response support of coworkers as needed, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and other additional tasks as assigned
• Technical proficiency in understanding and communicating regulations, risk management and risk assessment skills
• Technical proficiency in HSE auditing, incident investigation and documentation techniques
• Proficiency with written and email communication including use of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability and willingness to be on the road visiting sites approximately 75% of the time
• Possess strong organizational skills and multi-task efficiently
• Ability to identify and solve problems
• Be self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Must be able to lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or less
• Ability to travel as needed to other offices and other work sites, occasionally requiring extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in a HSE role or related experience
• Must have and maintain valid state-issued driver's license, be eligible to drive a Company vehicle and meet the requirements of the Company's vehicle program, policy and/or guidelines
• Must be able to pass an ATF lifetime background check

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Engineering, HSE Sciences or other related area
• 5+ years of experience in DOT regulations or commercial motor vehicle operation
• 5+ years of experience within the energy industry
• ATF experience preferred
• OHST or other recognized certification in HSE-related subject area
