Reports To: Catering Manager
1. Food preparation and cleaning activities.
2. Ensuring that galley personnel and food preparation meet hygiene requirements.
3. Ensuring that daily activities and the activities of the galley crew are carried out in a safe and healthy manner and that the impact of such activities on the environment is within acceptable limits.
Complete other duties and/or projects as required and assigned by management.
Education: Professional education as Cook
Food handling and hygiene course.
Experience: Minimum 1 year experience as Chief Cook or First Cook in a restaurant or onboard a
vessel with a large crew.
Experience working offshore.
Skills: Able to speak and understand English.
Must possess a valid TWIC card and Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC).
Additional requirements as contained in the Qualifications and Training Matrix appropriate to each vessel.
Decision Making: The Cook coordinates with the Catering Manager, other cooks and any
other persons necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
