Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE Company is currently hiring a Real Estate Law Clerk based in Houston, TX

This position will assist the Real Estate attorneys with compiling and organizing paper and electronic legal records relating to real estate transactions and assisting real estate attorneys with various transactions.

Essential Responsibilities:

Under minimal supervision of legal department personnel:
  • Drafting basic real estate documents such as lease amendments and deeds
  • Organizing documents relating to sales, purchases, and leases of real estate into permanent transaction binders and electronic files
  • Conducting legal research to help support the Real Estate attorneys
  • Assisting in the organization of department records for long- and short-term storage
  • Effectively communicating directly with attorneys as well as business personnel, surveyors, brokers and title insurance companies
  • Understanding standard information relating to real estate transactions
  • Limited general administrative duties
  • Support of real estate attorneys in connection with miscellaneous transactions

  • MUST be enrolled in law school
  • Strong Interest in Real Estate Law
  • Demonstrated Legal Research Skills
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and processes
  • Strong organizational ability and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly productive with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and change focus with shifting priorities

Desired Characteristics:
  • Completed or Taking Course in Real Estate Law a plus
