This role has been established as part of the Shell Downstream Legal Department for the purpose of managing external litigators handling the litigation matters and regulatory challenges in the Thailand in a proactive, timely, cost effective and professional manner in furtherance of business objectives and protection of shareholder interests.
Accountabilities are the following: identifying legal issues relevant to matters handled and acting with the appropriate urgency; identifying all potential problem areas with respect to cases and matters; managing external litigators to effectively resolve the court cases in a variety of areas such as labor and employment, debt collection, repossession of real asset; identifying options for achieving business objectives within applicable legal and cost restraints; fully understanding the Shell Business Principles and Code of Conduct and challenging business decision-making process in respect of potential breaches; periodically communicating with the business and updating the business on significant developments in the matters handled; reporting significant litigation risks within the Group Control framework; maintaining matters on the Group-wide matter Management database; training and facilitating internal compliance sessions for staffs.
Partner with business in the assigned area to identify and mitigate risk of business activities in relation to both local legislation and Shell Code of Conduct such as Data Privacy, Trade Competition and Anti Bribery and Corruption.
Drafting and reviewing commercial contract and any legal documents to protect benefit of enterprise and align with local law and Shell ethic and compliance.
Be a gatekeeper for labelling control product to be comply with relevant law and regulation.Company Description

- This position requires a lawyer with minimum PQE 5 years in practice area.
- This position also requires an understanding of business organizations and governance structures.
- The successful candidate must have outstanding academic credentials, bar registration and knowledge of dispute resolution processes, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work effectively with Shell businesses and external stakeholders, excellent skills as an advocate and as a legal counselor to the businesses, excellent skills managing outside legal and other third-party resources, be fluent in written and spoken English.
