Role Summary/Purpose

BHGE seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead and perform design, manufacturing and sustaining mechanical functions for Smart Services - Wellbore intervention Products at the BHGE GEC centre in Pune.

Smart Services is a new and growing section of the Completions and Well Intervention Product Line. Our purpose is to bring digital technologies to Well Completion, Well Intervention and other services.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conceptual design development utilizing advanced analytical tools including finite element analysis, as well as CAD. Contribute to requirements elaboration if required.
• Optimize design concepts to meet performance/reliability requirements and cost targets utilizing advanced simulation tools for functional as well as survivability evaluation.
• Application of GD&T principle's
• Develop test plans and supervise execution of engineering tests at a prototype system level or prototype component level. Write reports to summarize testing and communicate lessons learned.
• Complete documentation and change management processes for new product development.
• Design for survivability in harsh operating environmental conditions including shock, vibration, high temperature, and high pressure.
• Ensure design meets system level requirements (interface configuration, power, telemetry, system test software, operation software, etc.), and conforms to BHGE standards and quality.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Ensure design meets system level requirements (interface configuration, power, telemetry, system test software, operation software, etc.), and conforms to BHGE standards and quality.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and around 8 years' experience or Master's Degree in Engineering in Product Design and Development with around 6 years' experience.
• Advanced technical skills including experience in CAD (3-D modelling and 2D drafting), and the utilization of Finite Element Analysis tools in a design & build environment.
• Demonstrated advanced problem solving skills with respect to Applied Mechanics, Engineering Design, and Technology Development.
• Experienced in application of GDT principles
• Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders including operations, sourcing, Product management and Project management organizations
• Experience in Research and Technology Development preferred with emphasis in Mechanical Design and Applied Mechanics a plus.

• Electro-mechanical design experience desired.
• Experience in qualification testing e.g. vibration testing, and temperature testing.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English
• Exposure on DFMEA.
