Role Summary:

The NPI Process Improvement Leader will leverage data and knowledge of lean practices to assist PPS in driving down the time & cost to deliver NPI's. This role is focused on making tomorrow better than today, providing leadership and expertise in determining where to improve the NPI process and keeping the organization informed on the status of our key NPI delivery metrics.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of NPI Process Improvement Leader, you will:
  • Define and own improving the Product Development Process for NPI within PPS
  • Utilize lean, DMAIC, CAP, Workout and other tools/methodologies to resolve process gaps and lead change
  • Be the owner of the truth on the NPI process metrics and the point person for communicating the PPS status through monthly communications to the Regional, Functional and leadership team
  • Work in priority order to implement identified simplification projects ensuring adequate buy-in from key stakeholders
  • Use key measurement tools and metrics to quantify identified gaps as well as desired objectives
  • Drive the root-cause analysis of metric misses, corrective action and continuous improvement within the NPI Process
  • Support in the development and introduction of appropriate Team metrics for Engineering & Product Line
  • Own the Operating Plan of the NPI Deck each year and assist in pulling it together during the MRP process
  • Lead the internal audit program to assess PDM compliance and process effectiveness
  • Own, manage and drive audit findings
  • Develop strong working partnerships with key stakeholders in other functions (Engineering, Finance, Leadership, Product Line) to enable effective communications, on-time responses and good information flow
  • Facilitate, train, and coach team members to ensure buy-in and thorough understanding of implemented changes
  • Constantly seek, share, and implement best practices
  • Set up & Schedule BR Gate meetings and keeping track of the gate meeting outcomes in order to measure
  • Host NPI project status reviews and taking account of any changes to schedule and reasons for missed gate dates
  • Be available for queries from other functions such as Engineering & Finance
  • Communicate progress to Champions, Business Leaders

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Process Improvement
