Job Summary
Plan, manage and sometimes execute small projects that may include minor new construction, modifications, upgrades and repairs to a variety of offshore drilling rig configurations. The position requires technical and administrative control of the project in accordance with the agreed/authorized project objectives, schedule, commercial target, internal/external customer requirements as well as regulatory body and class society requirements.
Job Description

DUTIES :
Plan and in some cases manage projects with respect to engineering, scope of work, budget, schedule, quality, safety, contract administration and personnel issues through all project phases in accordance with the Stage Gate Handbook, Company policies, standards and project objectives.
Be the project focal point for all stake holders.
Manage schedule and cost optimization in preparation for project execution.
Travel to locations to do site surveys, scheduling reviews and planning with operations team. (expected travel is approximately 40% of the year)
Plan commissioning and rig acceptance with customer. Work closely with engineering and technical field support departments to develop work packs and schedules using their knowledge, experience and lessons learned.
Negotiate and process shipment and vendor contract negotiations.
Monitor and report project deliverables vs budget, target milestones and critical path.
Manage project team to ensure assigned duties are completed.
Ensure all phases of the performance appraisal are completed for all project team personnel including both employees and contractors using the applicable Company system.
Ensure safe execution of all aspects of all project activities in accordance with Company safety management processes.
Coordinate project requirements with other departments, classification society and customer.
Develop, review, administer, control, and authorize project expenditures as required.

QHSE
Ensure correct work control paperwork / documentation is in place for each task to be undertaken and that such documentation is properly completed and filed at the end of the task. Ensure all safety measures are used during work activities and assist in maintaining safety items, materials and equipment in proper working condition. Participate in Emergency Drills. Participate in Safety and Pre-Tour or Project Meetings as required. Participate in START process with crews. Audit written Risk Assessment for hazardous activities.

QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Project Engineering / Management or equivalent experience combined with 5 years project related experience. Project Management Institute (PMP) Certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 4 years major international project and working on MODU projects in shipyards. It is preferred to have experience in engineering, shipyard construction, project execution and/or operational experience with various kinds of MODUs.

SKILLS:
Good knowledge of project management techniques including planning, budget control, contract administration and resource administration. Good verbal and written communication skills. Experienced with world wide shipyards. Familiar with drilling industry technique is preferable.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job requires employee to work with others as a team and travel (40%) It is important to have good reporting; good problem solving and interpersonal skills.

SUPERVISION:
Oversee/Team Lead for Project Teams - 3-5 Employees and/or Contractors

INGENUITY:
Must have sound vision and methodology for planning complex future tasks with particular emphasis on the ability to expediently resolve critical problems related to project issues (design or technical issues, planning, contract, budget, delivery delays, etc.)

DECISION MAKING:
Routinely required to make major decisions regarding project which may affect the Company.
