Job Summary
REPORTS TO:\tSupervisor, Accounts Payable

DEPARTMENT:\tAccount Payable

LOCATION:\tHouston

BASIC FUNCTION:\tProvide on-the-ground tactical support for the central accounts payable team. Assist with all monthly AP related bank reconciliation for all bank accounts used by AP for payment, in conjunction with Cash and Corporate accounting. Review all AP payments to ensure accuracy in line with internal control requirements before the payments are approved and released in the bank.
Job Description

DUTIES :

1. Daily review of AP payments and bank reports.
2. Assist as a back up for the urgent payments desk.
3. Assist with AP share points requests.
4. Assist with AP credit recovery projects.
5. Assist as a backup for Bank of America end of month GL entries uploads.

EDUCATION : 2 year college degree or some college credits

EXPERIENCE : 2-5 years general accounting or accounts payable experience

SKILLS : Keen awareness and attention to detail, some knowledge of personal computers, ability to understand software functionality, file creation and administration. Microsoft Excel, Outlook, 10-key by touch, keyboard accuracy, and speed of 30 - 40 strokes per minute. Ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast paced environment. Very good oral and written communication. Demonstrated initiative and understanding of "sense of urgency" approach. Positive attitude and team player mind set.

INGENUITY : Demonstrated initiative and working independently as a team member with minimal supervision.

DECISION MAKING : Exercise good judgement, identify discrepancies, determine correction action needed, communicate factually.
