Role Summary/Purpose

This Lead Buyer role will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs and processes for the Digital Technology & Telecomm business within Baker Hughes. In this role, you will use your experience and expertise to partner with Suppliers and Business Leadership to develop and execute priorities in line with short-term and long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities

In this role Lead Buyer, you will:

  • Support multiple stakeholders within the regions in sourcing Digital and Telecomm products/professional services
  • Manage PO allocations, Supplier relationships and fulfillment strategies in order to minimize delivery risks
  • Coordinate, help direct, as well as perform all required functions from purchase through to satisfactory delivery of products/professional services and Supplier payment
  • Solicit and evaluate proposals employing appropriate negotiation, cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizations; implement purchase orders following applicable company and government regulations
  • Enforce business policies to meet business targets, including improving procurement processes and to enhance the customer experience with Sourcing
  • Responsible for coordinating all procurement activities for assigned commodities to meet the requirements of the business
  • Negotiate price and payment terms etc.
  • Achieve Sourcing & Business KPI's

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Sourcing or Supply Chain

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in Sourcing DT/IT & Telecomm products/professional services
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with Suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to cope and resolve multiple complex situation daily
  • SAP system knowledge and experience required (PO and invoice/pay process)
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
