JOB DESCRIPTION
The Compensation Accountant is primarily responsible for administering the company stock plans. They will prepare and provide information to employees about vesting schedules and exercise process, prepare new hire and other stock grants, process employee transactions to exercise options, maintain and update stock databases, prepare reports and perform analysis.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of reconciliations and disclosures for quarterly and annual filings
Compiles ad hoc financial schedules for in- house use and external reporting
Works closely with the Accounting, Legal and HR departments to assemble and analyze financial data
Responsible for keeping current with accounting, SEC and industry developments; analyzing the impact to the company
Interacts with US and international Payroll departments to apply the payroll tax treatment of equity vests
Assists in preparation of summaries and analysis for audit committee presentations
Regularly communicates with supervisor work progress, concerns and questions
Special projects, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
2+ years of experience in accounting and/or external reporting, with extensive knowledge of accounting and financial reporting
High degree of attention- to- detail and excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills; must have a desire to go above and beyond, to get things done and have fun in the process
Must be able to communicate with internal and external customers of all levels
Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills; must be able to analyze and interpret large datasets
Must be fluent in English (both oral and written)
Preferred:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate
Certified Equity Professions (CEP) designation or CEP candidate
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office software; prior experience with a complex general ledger (typically found in mid- to large- sized organizations)
Second language such as Spanish, Portuguese or Russian
