Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE Company has an opening for a Strategic Sourcing Manager within the Oil Field Tools (OFT) commodity. Oil Field Tools represents operational spend with third parties on product, rental and service items which make up portion of overall service delivery to end users.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide category management for assigned OFT product lines.
  • Perform core category management activities and drive value projects
  • Provide strategy, supply chain solutions and develop project management structure for cost reduction and/or performance improvement.
  • Drives Strategic Supply Agreement (SSA) and Master Supply Agreements (MSA) content and structure including, but not limited to, legal terms and conditions, transportation INCO terms, payment terms, SOX compliance, and import/export
  • Monitors BHGE and supplier compliance and performance against established contracts and processes.
  • Proposes and implements improvements to sourcing policies.
  • Excellent ability to communicate with internal customers and suppliers.
  • Manage team activities with suppliers: Negotiate price, capacity, payment terms, supplier chargebacks, etc. with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with leadership in S&OP, Operations, Quality, Product Line, Engineering and Manufacturing organizations.
  • Negotiates with suppliers.
  • Acts as the liaison between suppliers and BHGE on strategic sourcing matters.
  • Maintains thorough industry and category knowledge.
  • Proposes and implements improvements to sourcing policies.
  • Holds financial responsibility for the category team.
  • Handles special projects as assigned

  • Bachelor Degree in engineering or Supply Chain Management or equivalent field of study
  • 5+ years of experience sourcing in Oil and Gas
