POSITION DESCRIPTION This position is responsible for the implementation of Calumet's Corporate Quality program, including ISO certification of the required facilities, quality objectives and metrics, Corporate Quality initiatives, and assistance in the formation of a quality mentality that supports the vision of being the premier specialty petroleum products company in the world. This Quality Leader role has responsibilities that include planning and directing activities of groups of employees to deliver on commitments, facilitating interaction with other work groups, reporting to senior management, and promoting the goals and objectives of the Corporate Quality Department. The Quality Leader has the responsibility to drive change in employee, supervisory, and management attitudes toward quality. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES • Works directly with Marketing, R&D, Customer Service, and Plant Managers to implement the Quality objectives • Ensures all appropriate processes are in-place and working to maintain certifications. • Regularly analyzes quality data and suggests actions based on analysis. • Plans and directs activities, facilitates interaction with other work groups, promotes the goals and objectives of the Corporate Quality Department • Partners and collaborates with other corporate and plant quality personnel to plan and execute activities to address priorities for continual improvement • Provide support to share best practices, share resources, assess gaps and solutions to close any identified gaps. • Responsible for the auditing of ISO and other required certifications for the operating plants. Oversees the record keeping requirements related to this function • Works to implement new Quality objectives and metrics that provide continuous improvement for Calumet • Participates in the review of complaint resolution with the operating facilities to ensure that actions have been implemented to remedy the complaint • Schedules and participates in the ISO Quality System management review process. • Receives incident reports, reviews investigations and provides feedback, and provides initial and follow-up reports to customers, insurance companies, government, and legal bodies as required • Prepares, tracks, and reports quarterly quality and audit metrics POSITION REQUIREMENTS • Four-year degree, preferably in Chemistry or Engineering. • Experience developing and implementing key quality processes • Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards • Ability to transfer ownership of quality to all relevant functions • Minimum of 10 years directly related experience including minimums of two years in an operations role and two years in a multi-plant/division or corporate role. • Candidates for this position typically have worked in the refining or specialty chemical industry as a process engineer, chemist, quality manager, or lean/six sigma blackbelts
