This internship opportunity has a targeted duration of 4 months, beginning in May 2020.

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Supply Chain Management Intern - Local and Indigenous Content in Calgary; Canada until Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide assistance and support to the Canadian Business Unit - Supply Chain Management Local and Indigenous Content Advisor in supporting Local and Indigenous Business Partners, so they can fully participate in opportunities in areas where we operate;
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and alignment of the Local and Indigenous Content Strategy;
  • Actively participate in all aspects of the Contract Life Cycle, including initiation through award, compliance and renewal; review of Local and Indigenous Implementation Plans (LIIP's), Supplier Quality Management meetings;
  • Attend Local and Indigenous Business Events, Trade Shows, Career Fairs, etc. to further support the objectives of the Local and Indigenous Content Strategy;
  • Participate on planning teams and task forces for Enterprise and/or industry initiatives related to or incorporating Local and Indigenous Content;
  • Provide support to Supply Chain Management function as needed;
  • Review and participate in the Local and Indigenous Content reporting; understand the metrics we are reporting and what is happening in the wider economic or business environment that might be influencing the figures/trends; make recommendations for opportunities
  • Precise, timely, and professional communication with personnel in various departments;
  • Provide information and training to Local and Indigenous Business Partners on Chevron Canada Resources SCM processes (RFP, invoicing, etc.)
  • Develop and coordinate cross-functional project plans and critical paths by utilizing various planning tools (Stratum, Prism, Excel, and attend periodic team meetings) in order to ensure timely implementation of Supply Chain initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Pursuing Bachelor's degrees in Business Commerce with a specialization in Supply Chain Management.
  • Demonstrated high level of academic performance.
  • Good communication, leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic with internal drive to succeed
  • Strong computer applications knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Data Analytics Tools - spotfire.
  • Previous oil and gas related internship experience is an asset.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
