Role Summary/Purpose

The F&PT Instrument COE Leader is responsible for all engineering and technology development for the Control Valves business' instrumentation and software products. He/she will lead a global team of engineers to optimize, innovate and grow the company's valve positioner, diagnostics, and asset management software. This person will additionally partner with both product managements to drive portfolio strategy and with business operations to optimize the production cycle and OTD.

Essential Responsibilities

In the role of F&PT Instrument COE Leader, you will:
  • Accountable for execution of new product introduction, as well as sustaining the product portfolio - including compliance to global certifications in the target markets, strategic cost reductions to maintain competitiveness, and support to sourcing and supply chain in manufacture and delivery of product
  • Own the software development lifecycle for embedded system firmware, industrial control system interface (e.g. DTM), diagnostics, and customer facing asset management solutions
  • Provide leadership to the engineering team, own the talent pipeline, and operate within the budget framework
  • Communicate product technology and benefits internally to executive leadership as well as supporting strategic opportunities / customer events with technical leadership
  • Drive a culture of HSE & Compliance

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electro-mechanical instrumentation and embedded systems

Eligibility Requirements
  • Travel up to 15% of the time, as required

Desired Characteristics
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading instrumentation and software for the control valve positioner market is preferred
  • Experience with industrial controls protocols (e.g. HART, Foundation Fieldbus, ISA 100)
  • Experience in development of low power (
  • Strong communication skills and confidence with executive presentations
  • Knowledge of Energy markets, customers, and regional requirements including awareness of Technical Regulations & Standards
  • Comprehensive knowledge of control valve market, competitors, and trends
  • Experience leading global teams, and cross functional organizations
