Our client is looking for a Fleet Performance Superintendent for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Some of the duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop strategy to monitor and continuously improve fleet performance in the areas of environmental emissions, equipment reliability and operational uptime
  • Develop energy plans and monitoring systems to ensure that energy usage & environmental emissions are clearly visible to all stakeholders across fleet
  • Monitor energy usage across the fleet and develop measures to facilitate reduction of energy usage and environmental emissions.
  • Ensure all vessels meet regulatory requirements relating to international and national environmental legislation along with classification society rules
  • Liaise with clients, vendors, classification societies and other stakeholders to discuss current environmental and sustainability issues and promote the company's ongoing initiatives
  • Monitor equipment failures across the fleet (excluding well control equipment) and ensure that are incidents are captured in a data base to allow identification of any trends.
  • Prepare monthly reports to management on status of equipment failures, ongoing investigations and corrective actions
  • In conjunction with Superintendents and Heads of Departments, liaise with OEM's on equipment failure investigations and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Conduct offshore investigations or audits as required
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets, costs for all surveys, modifications and projects.
  • Ensuring all relevant project activities are performed in accordance with Company Procedures.
  • Assist with preparing annual plans and corresponding budgets.
  • Project managing, including planning for and attending rigs during docking and major repair periods in order to ensure that all necessary work and repairs are satisfactorily completed within agreed budgets.
  • Supporting technical matters for the vessels, including preventive maintenance, servicing, repairing and spares/supplies. Monitor the status and effectiveness of planned maintenance schedules to ensure maximum equipment efficiency.
  • Assist in the investigation of Incidents and to establish the root cause and make recommendations to prevent a recurrence. Assist as required in any emergency response. Assume role of on-call Superintendent when required.
  • Respond to all documentation, reports and other inward data regarding the mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Liaise with certifying authorities regarding equipment failures repairs and renewals.
  • Assist in the selection and recruitment of offshore Engineering personnel to meet the requirements of the company.
  • Carry out risk assessments for projects and modifications to rigs, including participation with technical crews and teams where necessary.
  • Any other duties that are required by the Engineering Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

Communication

  • Report findings of audits and inspections to Engineering Manager and Rig Manager.
  • Liaise closely with Rig Managers and Chief Engineers.
  • Communicate changes required by legislation to Company Management.
  • Ensure experience feedback and after action reviews carried out for projects when necessary and learning's shared within department and fleet.
  • Suitable applicants should ideally have the following Education and Experience

Essential

  • Engineering Degree (MSc., BSc. or equivalent).
  • Desirable - Certificate of Competence as Marine Engineer, e.g. Chief Engineer ticket.
  • Suitable operational working experience.
  • Familiarisation of Company assets/policies/capabilities with respect to Design, Techniques, Vessels Equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Practical exposure to offshore drilling operations.
