Scope of work: The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and execution of medium value capital projects
·Apply engineering principles, tools, skills and experience to provide ideas and solutions to project assignments
·Perform all assigned activities in accordance with Mechanical discipline policies, procedures and standard methods of operation
·Responsible for technical input into detailed mechanical design of overland conveying, sample stations, blending stockyard and train loadout facility.
·Responsible for completion of overland conveying, sample stations, blending stockyard and train loadout facility engineering to allocated schedule and budget (reporting to lead mechanical engineer)
·Working with designers including engineering input, review and sign off of all drawings.
·Actively participate in engineering activities associated with procurement of equipment (ie liaise technically with project engineers, complete technical bid evaluations etc.)
·Ensure the timely and accurate development of data sheets and specifications for equipment
·Maintain effective communication and contact with Supplier representatives to ensure accurate and timely review and approval of supplier data and drawings
·Contribute to the management of projects by preparing accurate and detailed technical bid evaluations for equipment
·Maintain effective communication and interface with team members (ie structural engineers, civil engineers etc) and other engineering disciplines as required
·Participate in field trips to gather project information as required
·Participate and input into conceptual options studies at the start of the project, inclusive of report writing and recommendations to client
·Participation in design review meetings
·Mechanical Engineering Degree/background
·Minimum 5+ years' experience
·Exposure to management of capital projects and Iron Ore Processing Plants
·Experience with collating data, process mapping and monitoring / reporting KPIs and metrics
·Experience of working with business improvement frameworks and methodologies and previous involvement with business improvement projects
·Prior experience working within operational teams on site is essential
·Defect Elimination, strong engagement and communication skills
·Demonstrated involvement in managing design and fabrication contractors.
